Joe’s Lobster Mart Re-Opening Is A Travesty Of Justice

joe's

Capecodonline.comGeorge Brennan – Joe’s Lobster Mart, the beleaguered fish market on the shores of the Cape Cod Canal, is reopening under new ownership.

Scott Thayer, the long-time general manager of Joe’s Lobster Mart, said Monday he is sub-leasing the building from Joseph Vaudo and has received permission from the state Department of Public Health to reopen…

Thayer declined to comment on the specifics of the business deal between himself and Vaudo, except to say that his long-time boss would have no role in the day-to-day operation of the business. Vaudo, who leased the property from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is essentially Thayer’s landlord.

What an absolute crock of shit. I didn’t need to read one sentence of this article before my bullshit detector started ringing like the dinner bell at Honey Boo Boo’s house. As Hippie Senior used to say “I’m too old a cat to get fucked by a kitten.” Of course Thayer “declined to comment on the specifics of the business deal between himself and Vaudo”. That’s because he’s obviously a puppet for the guy to keep his business.

If you believe that Vaudo’s “long-time” general manager is going to take over his entire operation, use his name and his equipment but only pay him rent and not the lion’s share of the profits then I wish you good luck with your 47th chromosome.

How is this a punishment? You have to take the guy’s lease, it is government property. At least make the new guy prove that he is not just a front for Vaudo. I want quarterly profit and loss statements backed up by tax returns to prove that he is only getting rent and not profits. Better yet, if you are the DPH just don’t let this crap happen. This is the type of shit that makes people distrust the government. This is such an obvious scam to dodge the system that allowing it smacks of cronyism in politics.

Someone in the government needs to stand up and say that this move just doesn’t pass the sniff test. Someone needs to take a stand and restore our faith in our leaders. If I were anyone involved in prosecuting Joe or making sure he paid for his crimes I would be personally insulted that this is being allowed to go down this way.

Let’s show the government that just because they can be so easily manipulated, we the people of Cape Cod will not be. We are too smart to have this shit pulled on us. Keep the ban of Joe’s Lobster Mart in place. Keep the real power in the hands of the people and do not shop there.

VIDEO: Would You Release A 25 Pound Lobster? This Family Did

lobster

It’s an old video but we just came across it on capecod.com

There isn’t even a speck of a chance that I would entertain the notion of letting that lobster go for one second. I don’t care if it’s 287 years old and signed the Declaration of Independence, that thing looks DEE-LISH!

I never understood the premise of not killing something because it’s old. That thing has lived a full life. He’s seen it all and is close to the end anyway.

All the 2 pounders we murder by the thousands are just getting started, probably haven’t even had a chance to get laid yet. They have their whole lives ahead of them.

Screw grandpa, save the teenagers!

We Are Still On The Fence About This Train Station At The Canal

cape flyer

CapeNews.net – An overflow crowd of residents packed the conference room at the Bourne Veterans Memorial Community Center Monday night, December 1, to learn more about and comment on plans to build a new railway platform in town, just south of the Cape Cod Canal, at the foot of the Bourne Bridge.

The platform would serve the CapeFLYER seasonal passenger train.

Some residents at the meeting worried that the new platform would generate too much car traffic in the already heavily-traveled area, when people are picked up or dropped off at the train.

This really is a tough one. On one hand it will attract more tourists and keep people from getting off the train on the other side of the canal and driving over the bridges onto Cape Cod. On the other hand, adding a train station to the Bourne rotary is kind of like serving Ebola sandwiches at an AIDS clinic. Everyone there is already screwed, do we really need to add to their misery?

How about we use this money and energy on some new bridges? Maybe we should focus on getting the 4 million people in cars over the bridge in less than 18 hours and worry about the 16 people on the train a little later?

National Grid Says: “No More Gas For You Cape Cod”

national grid gas

CapeCodOnline.com –  Property owners looking to hook up to National Grid’s natural gas line may find they have a long wait ahead of them.

The utility company has instituted a moratorium on new hookups in all of Brewster, Dennis, Yarmouth, Orleans, Eastham, Harwich, Chatham and parts of Barnstable. The halt could last until 2019…

The moratorium was prompted by a recent inspection of the main transmission line along a 21-mile stretch spanning the Mid- and Lower Cape, which revealed some of the equipment was not up to current standards.

“We made the decision to lower the pressure in the main from 200 pounds per square inch to 125 until it’s replaced,” Navarro said. “We’re still evaluating what has to be done.”

“They found they had 4-inch pipe in some places where they thought they had 6-inch,” Wolf said. “The infrastructure isn’t there so they have to ratchet back until it is.”

“Suffice it to say, the gas main is totally safe,” Navarro said. “Some of the equipment just doesn’t meet with current standards for the higher pressure, so we decided to lower it as a precaution.”

National Grid is the gas Nazi. No gas for you! Don’t worry though, 2019 is right around the corner. You’ll get your gas just in time to make some killer dip for Super Bowl 54 between the 49ers and the Neptune Blue Knights. On the bright side, you’ll be able to afford the conversion because that car you just bought will be paid off by then.

On another note, how about National Grid blowing smoke up our asses about how safe their infrastructure is as well? You aren’t fooling anyone turning the pressure down to 125 psi. We’ve all seen enough sci-fi movies to know that anytime you can only run the thrusters at 62%, something is about to explode.

Sleep well everyone, there’s a giant pipe bomb underneath us.
